Tips on relocating to Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, Georgia is a treasure trove of historic elements that you are sure to love once you move here. On the eastern side of Atlanta one would find the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Site. The first African-American millionaire Alonzo Franklin Herndon’s home is also on this side of town. Elsewhere in Atlanta are various cafes, bars and shops and sports in Atlanta are represented by The Philips Arena home of the Atlanta’s hockey and basketball team and the Georgia Dome where the famed Atlanta Falcons football team plays.

These are just some of the attractions that you would only be a stone’s throw away from when you move to Atlanta. In addition, Atlanta also has a very hectic nightlife so that the insomniacs who move here would have more than enough things to get into. The residential properties in Atlanta give one the chance to live in a luxurious home at a really affordable price. For instance, you could get a lovely three bedroom home with full amenities like pool in a gated community with a view for only $1200 which is affordable compared to other states. The cost of living here is extremely low which makes it easier for you to afford life’s necessities.

Also, the job market here is also a good one so you should have no problems finding a job for which you are qualified. Public transportation in Atlanta is not the most reliable and it does not help that the traffic here is never a good thing especially during a morning and afternoon commute. Still, if you are moving to Atlanta from another state, ensure that the mover you select has all the equipment necessary to make the move successful. Your moving company of choice should also be certified enough to drive long distance to another state or they should be affiliated with a moving company in Atlanta who could transport your items on the next leg of the move there. For a long distance move like this ensure that you have moving insurance in place or find out if the moving company would provide it in case unexpected damage occurs.

Finally, if you are moving into an apartment building, perhaps to make the move go quickly you can talk to your building superintendent or owner to allow you to use the elevator for a few hours to get your items in your apt in a short space of time.

I agree with Chris’ comment. Finding a great, friendly moving company is key to your stress-free move. When I relocated to Atlanta, I used Uncle Bob’s Self Storage to rent out a self storage unit for a bit to keep my stuff in so I could slowly move my furniture in without a rush. I eventually stayed with their services because they were extremely accommodating – even past my relocation. They also have a ‘name your own price’ deal, so it’s really great!

Long story short, I completely give my recommendation to Uncle Bob’s Self Storage in Atlanta. They’re very professional, friendly, and have some of the best self storage units in Atlanta that I’ve seen.
