Mention the city of Boston and one quickly conjures up images of Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox that plays there. If you plan to move to Boston you would find that there is more to this lively city than meets the eye. The home of two of the country’s largest universities being Cambridge and Harvard, Boston is indeed a cultural melting pot with students making their way here from far off places such as London, Trinidad and Tobago, New Delhi and nationally from Chicago to name a few.
The accommodation in Boston leans heavily towards apartment-styled dwellings and one of the big plus here is how convenient these apartments are located to just about everything. When you move to Massachusetts you are never too far away from restaurants, cafes and department stores and it also helps that they have an impeccable public transport service as well. Because of the influx of students to the Boston universities and colleges, apartments that are advertised for rent do not last very long. The rental price that you would pay could be very high at $1,200 and upwards for a small studio apartment. You may also consider renting a self storage unit in Boston.
There are also houses here of various sizes with the most popular being colonial styled homes. In a city like this you would need to hire one of the more reputable Boston moving companies since navigating in most of these homes that have stairs and not elevators can be somewhat trying. In addition, the moving companies would know all the routes to take in order to avoid traffic and they would also be able to stay away from the streets that are not wide enough for a moving truck to drive through.
Parking would be a breeze for your moving company if you were to get an apartment downtown. There is an ample amount of space at most of the downtown brownstone apartments for which the moving truck can park. In other residential neighborhoods though it may not be so easy for the moving vehicle to park since one has to first obtain a parking permit ahead of moving day. The permit would authorize the new resident and the moving company to park on a specified part of the street for a few hours. These permits can be obtained from the City of Boston Transportation Department.
